Theirs is not a rags-to-riches saga or even a tale of a steep ascent from obscurity to power and glory. Yet when Imam Mohammed Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye speak, Heads of State, Heads of Mission and other world leaders listen in respectful silence. Sometimes they even sign peace accords after hearing their words of wisdom. Canadians of many diverse backgrounds had a rare opportunity to meet them and hear them in person at a panel discussion on 1 November at St Paul University, Ottawa.

“Your work in healing communities and encouraging reconciliation reminded those in attendance of the fundamental importance of organic, community-led processes,” wrote Gay Rosenblum-Kumar, Executive Secretary of the Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action, following a showing of An African Answer at the UN Headquarters in NY.

El lanzamiento en EE.UU. de Una Respuesta Africana, lanzamiento que fue solicitado por el Instituto Estadounidense de la Paz (USIP, por sus siglas en inglés), se llevará a cabo del 25 al 31 de octubre octubre. Los protagonistas nigerianos de la película, el imán Muhammad Ashafa y el pastor James Wuye, el director británico, Dr. Alan Channer, y consultor de producción keniano, Joseph Karanja, asistirán a una serie de eventos de alto perfil y proyecciones en Nueva York y Washington, DC.

The Financial Times features an article by Joe Bavier on April 27 2011, where he reports on a live broadcast by peace activists James Wuye, a Christian pastor, and Muhammed Ashafa, a Muslim imam, whose weekly live broadcasts are designed to build bridges. Ein neuer "Leitfaden zum Einsatz von 'Der Imam und der Pastor' als Dialogmaterial" wurde jetzt neu  in englischer Sprache herausgebeben, um dabei zu helfen.
