Esta carta se publicó en respuesta a la “Declaración Palestina para el Líbano”, hecha por iniciativa del Presidente Palestino Mahmoud Abbas y publicada por Abbas Kaki, representante de la Organización para la Liberación Palestina (OLP) en el Líbano, el 7 de enero de 2008.

At the initiative of members of the IofC team in Lebanon, a letter was recently published in the newspaper Al-Safir. It was in response to the ‘Palestinian Declaration for Lebanon’ made on the initiative of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and issued by Abbas Zaki, the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Lebanon on 7 January 2008.

Although some of the Lebanese travelling to the conference managed to get to Beirut airport before it was closed, their families were still at home. For those who came, the stay at Mountain House could not be peaceful, but they had the courage to share their feelings about what was happening in their country.
