Metropolitan Richmond Day 2008

On Thursday, November 20 Hope in the Cities will host the 2008 Metropolitan Richmond Day community breakfast and forum at the Downtown Richmond Marriott hotel at 7:30am.

Former Mayor of Charlotte, NC, Richard Vinroot, will address 600 community leaders drawing on his experience of forging creative partnerships at the 2008 Metropolitan Richmond Day.  The community breakfast and forum will take place at the Downtown Richmond Marriott hotel at 7:30am on Thursday, November 20.  Vinroot says, "We must get over protecting our turf, our parochialism. If we have a poor road system, poor schools, poor neighborhoods in our region we all suffer."  At the public forum following the breakfast Mayor Vinroot will engage with a panel of Richmond citizens to explore historic perspectives, current realities and future hopes for regional cooperation in the Richmond metropolitan area. This event will further our region’s “honest conversation” on Building Trust in the Region.
